race with bob ehrlich. >> de paul was right -- the poll was released yesterday. george lettis joins us live from federal hill. >> the poll shows that this race is basically a dead heat. o'malley had a slight edge. let's go to the numbers. the poll shows zero moloch has 45% over 42%. the poll has a margin of error of around 3.5%. job approval, 40% approve of martin o'malley. 13% have no opinion. bob ehrlich, 46% have a favorable opinion. 30% are neutral. the next questions bode well for o'malley because it shows people favor the democrats. job approval of presidents, 51% approved. 11% have no opinion. the job approval for barbara mikulski, 59% approved. 12% have no opinion. we're getting some statements from both campaigns. the o'malley campaign said this poll showed that people remember his record as the biggest spender. the ehrlich campaign says negative campaigning has proved to be a tactical mistake. we expect this race to be close. we will have much more in the next half-hour. george lettis, wbal-tv 11 news. >> two people are behind bars for the murder of a johns hopkins researc
